Winter animals preschool storytime. Whenever I get a chance to present Wonderworks I typically connect the theme to animals. This storytime is all about what animals do in cold weather. Quiet Bunny and Noisy Puppy.
I stole most of my activities and ideas from Christina Joness wonderful animals in winter program at Knowledge Matters see part 1 and part 2. Some gather food in the fall to last through the winter some hibernate and some migrate to warmer climates. A great rhyme for storytime.

We will do this through stuffed animal. A Kitten Tale by Eric Rohmann. Snowmen at Night by Caralyn Buehner pictures by Mark Buehner Book.
I think this is a much better read-aloud than I was expecting because most of the kids seemed mesmerized. Children love learning about animals reading about them watching them pretending to be them and more. Animals are fun cuddly interesting and diverse.
